Around 40,000 400 built compared to up towards 300,000 M tractors. Lots of 400 were used hard when bigger implements started being common. Less tractors more failure of parts. Some M tractors were also, but lots of 400 were souped with more power than a lot of M tractors used in the field. Not all M were built up with less power though. 400 were never a popular tractor in a lot of places though. Used to buy good 400 runners for less than a regular M brings now. Some of thats just my opinion so take it for what its worth.
