there is no actual adjusting screws for the rpm. only on the wd40 you could open the butterfly with a screw and get more rpm. on this f8 carb i believe rpm is controlled by the air valve on top of carb.need 1/8" gap between carb body and valve. they only idle at about 400-500 rpm on gas, and as they warm up they will pick up some rpm. what rpm do you have. that is the secret to a long lasting deisel engine , run them slow till oil gets through the brgs. on the JD's there was a decompression lever you pull to register oil pressure then release it and fire it up on deisel.
