There is no problem with running it with 5 gallons of oil. That will only bring it to the level that the other turbo charged engines use. That added oil will help the engine run cooler. The oil in an engine is used for both lubrication and cooling.
All 400 series engines have piston cooling jets. The difference is that the turbo charged engines use 12 jets while the NA engines used only 6. The turbo charged engines also used a larger oil pump to compensate for the extra oil for the added jets and the turbo charger.
