Wellll, I have an aquaintance who is a little bit eccentric who said this guy in town maybe had a spare Farmall block. I say he's eccentric because he stuffed a 6-71 Jimmy diesel in a 1970's 3/4 ton Ford pickup, which he reglarly runs back East , to the delight of truckers and the dismay of retired guys pulling trailers with their new, $35,000 Cummins diesel-equipped rigs. He gets 24 mpg. But I digress. I went to this other guy's house, and saw not one, but two Farmall A's , consecutively numbered ! The nicer one has about 200 hours on it,original tires, everything like new on it, save for the battery, of course. It has the vacuum/exhaust gas/pneumatic whatever-that-thing-is lift, still with decals on it. I even saw decals on the back of the seat. Totally cool. It's brother has been used much more, but is still a very nice tractor and frequently used, and has a jerry-rigged, PTO - driven hydraulic pump for the implements under the seat. ANYWAY, outside his 4 bay garage, along side of his old gas station lift ( I hate this guy ! ), next to a humongous old gnarly sickle bar is a frozen 46' engine he wants $100 for, which has a good block. However, I really want hydraulics for my one-armed loader. Is there anyway in Haydes that this old block can be re-machined to accept the hydraulic pump from my Super A ? I don't think there is, but thought I'd ask anyway. I am still searching far and wide, but trying to concentrate on more local areas than Arkansas.

We thought we could get by with this since the engine ran perfectly and would not need any internal work. After the cleanup and painting was done, we began reassembly and finally came to t
