Rustyfarmall, I respect you and look foward to your advice always, but I have to disagree with the above comment. I made my 10si fit under the stock hood of my H with enough room for enough adjustment to tighten the belt. It has about 1/2-3/4" between the alt body and the side of the hood, and about 3/4" clearance between the alt body and valve cover.
