Well I got it back together.....we'll see how it goes when I try it for first time. Good lesson for me and I am just a hobbiest with mechanical ability. I have torn down and restored several cars and this is my first tractor. As many of you know from your love of things mechanical, the feeling when you finally solve a problem and add to the knowledge bank makes the angst and tears all worth it.
Thanks for adding to my sense of community, which is a big part of this hobby. And Gord, I try to imagine "how" you were saying what you did, and I am sure it would have ending with a knowing smile.
