Been many years since I took one apart, but you have to tilt it off to the side away from the operating lever to disengage the link inside and also there is a suction tube that may give you a problem tilting it , but it will come out. Putting it back on is trickier. If you have the box on the bench it is easier as steering post is in the way when on tractor and you may want to move it off to the side.
