41' h oil filter and housing

I went to farm and fleet tonight to pick up a new oil filter as well as some other new parts for my 41 H serial #62531. When I got there I looked in the fram filter reference and found that there were two different size filters for and H. I pulled out my serial # and found the one I needed. The first thing I noticed was that it was way to short. I found the other filter and decided that it was closer to the size of the filter currently on my H. Was there a change in size of filter somewhere along the line and does this mean that my H has the wrong housing? Does this make A difference?Thanks
