There is no evidence in the SM-SMTA parts book that power steering was available on those models. Doing the same search in the 400-450 book, it is clear that PS was available. I think the introduction of PS was delayed on the Farmalls until the factory improved the hydraulic system as found on the 400. For standard tread 400's that were optionally not shipped with the Hydra-Touch system, the factory used a belt driven pump and remote resevoir. It is my belief that any PS installed on tractors built before the 400 and 600 was done by the dealer or owner.
