i just peeked in the owners manual for my h. it says crank engine over until the first notch on the drive pulley is in line with the pointer. this is with a magneto type ignition, but should be about the same for a distributor, you can get an initial timing point to get the tractor started. then fine tune by ear, or, if you have a timing light with an adjustable advance, and you know what advance weights are in the distributor, you can use the timing light to time accordingly. the notch to grease the pilot bearing is a ways around the pulley, look for a single notch by itself.
