Had something similar happen on the 495 (same tractor, prior model) and one of the battery terminal connections (on the negative post) had a CRACK in it, lights all worked, showed great ground, just not enough connection to crank the motor.
If your battery light is going out after it does start then it should be charging good.
A loader does make starter work a pain, esp if it's a 2200 and it's down...
