You are saying that the engine stalls every time the clutch is let out. And you are saying the tractor can be rolled on its wheels only with the clutch pushed down engine off or on. If you put it in neutral, start the tractor (clutch down) and slowly release the clutch it night move in some direction. The above situation as described in your post is usually not possible. Pulling the shifter requires removing one of two small 5/8" plugs in the side of the tower. When one is removed the other one drives out by using a punch on the pin inside the hole. With the pin out it allows the lever to come out. Using a flashlight and a large screwdriver, align the shift rail slots in the tranny. Pushing the clutch down helps. The tip of the shifter will need to be welded up and ground back down. (pictures in the archives) Jim
