Does that book show pictures of the carbs? 1 15/16" looks like too much for this carb, but if the book shows the floats it might show if the float chambers are parallel to the gasket surface. My carb has two floats connected to a common small plate ( that the pivot pin goes through ). It looks like the floats, this little connecting plate, and the gasket surface should all be parallel and horizontal when installed on the tractor. Thanks for checking.
