If it were me Id take the free one.If the 65 dollar one goes out or it isnt good to start with you will have to have it fixed anyway so why not save a few bucks and take the freebie.You can have them repaired at any alt/starter shop and as mentioned you can have them rewired for 12 volt.Mine cost 75 bucks with the new regulator.
