Roy, is it a spline, or is it a big keyway that's real sloppy? Sounds more like gone than worn. If yours is a show tractor, remove the axel, remove the bolster, degrease and completely disassemble, sandblast housing, replace all worn or broken internal parts, assemble with new seals, prime, paint and reinstall. If its your everyday tractor, you might see if you could find a better complete housing or bolster. If yours is a just a parade tractor, a skilled overhead experienced booger welder might temporarily correct it, even the little kids sitting on the curb won't see that weld way up there.
