Look at the brakes if they are sheet metal covered it is an M. Look at the engine block casting dates. (the meaning is on the search for archives) all should be in the 1953 54 range (it is probably a hybred of more than one tractor. Probably not a SM if it is FBK on the serial plate All SM tractors had SM on the plate. A piston kit to make an M have the engine size of a SM is still not an SM. The live hydro could mean anything, as the changover is not too hard. Decals can change a Plain Jane six cylinder Mustang into a California Special from several feet away. I hope the tractor is a SM but it is not looking good. Jim
