Have you forgotten about that gear set that bolts where the belt pulley gearbox goes? A forum member has one on a H. Of course, I might be in error as it could be a speed increaser. But if it is, I'll bet a couple of gears in the housing could be swapped to make it a speed reducer. BTW, it is shiftable to make 10 speeds.
W6 ring and pinion will also increase speed.
Other than the IH Low-Low attachment which requires changing out three gears and the countershaft, the only other ways to slow down a M is to replace it with a SMTA or replace the axles with 660 planetaries and axle housings.
There is an off chance that F560 differential gears w/mainshaft could be modified to work. It would require machine work and possible shaft welding. I don't have a M so I don't let my mind wander over there except in passing.
