I checked all four cylinders on my my 504 with the C153 and got reading on each cylinder around 150 psi. My C153 was giving me fits too as the previous owner either didn"t care or was clueless. It was amazing how much more power she had after a serious carb cleaning and kit. I also recommend using an inline gas filter along with cutting the gas off with a manual valve prior to the carb after tractor use. Another fun thing to watch for on the C153 is lose of oil pressure for the oil pump"s bottom plate warping. If you have low oil pressure this would be an area to check. Reasonabally easy fix but irritating from a engineering reliability aspect. Hind sight is 20 20. Additionally I utilized this forum"s archive to gain knowledge. Good luck.
