As memory serves me, if you take the plate off that is on the column between your clutch and brake pedals, you'll be able to see the arm and linkage that shifts your speed transmission. If you take the floorboard up, you'll also have a good view. May want to take both up. Actually, I think you have to take the one off the column to get the floorboard up anyway. Don't remember exactly without looking at it. Move lever, see if that arm going into tranny moves. If it does, problem is probably under that cover. If it don't move while moving lever, you might have a broke pin somewhere higher up and you'll have to take the covers off by the steering wheel to see what you're doing.
