I have a 48 SA with a mag ignition. I parked my tractor about 3 weeks ago. It was running perfect. I go to start it last weekend and it won't start. I got throught the whole nine yards of trouble shooting and I find nothing wrong. I finally check the timing, and low and behold it is 180 deg out of time!! I figure something has jumped time internally in my mag. So I retime it and now it runs perfect. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? I feel I have a pretty good understanding of what goes on in a engine and how they work. But this has got me stumped. Is it possible for something internal to the mag causing this? I hope someone can shed some light on this. The only way I know to do this is to remove the mag.
