I have restored two 10-20s which are posted heavily on this site. I have one nagging issue. My carbs will always have a little drip so I try and tighten up the acorn nut just one more little lb of torque and snap! It breaks off. The suction tubes are always the most rusty and weakest piece. I own 5 carbs and only have two functioning carbs and not extra suction tubes.
I have ordered new suction tubes from the Fordson House. The 5/16" parts fits the lower half of the carb fine. However, it is too small to connect to the upper part the carb and hold all three pieces together.
This has to be somewhat of a common problem. What is everybody using when the ole suction tube snaps????
This is the only weak spot in my two restorations and I don't want to keep buying carbs on ebay in hopes that the suction tube is good.
