It's about 50/50 on this site and others as to their use.

Irregardless, something is blocking fuel, whether from the tank (which I suspect) or somewhere in the carb. You might take the main jet out of the carb and blow it and the fitting out. My cub did the same thing, it was a piece of crud in the main jet.
