A 6 volt battery charger will not work!!! It will not charge the battery, as the voltage output of the charger is to low. Do not use a 12 volt charger, as it will over charge and cause damage to the battery. Consulate a good battery shop, for a 4 cell battery charger. If you stay with a 4 cell, 8 volt battery, adjust the output of your generator up as high as possilbe, but no higher then a total output voltage of 9.48 volts. If you have additional question, please let me know.
