I sketched the tank shape on quad paper and estimated the lower portion of the tank to be about 409 square inches.
At 1 in³ = 0.004329 per gallon, the tank should show 1.77” gallons per inch. After adding about 6 gallons the fuel depth was 3.25 inches (3.25 x 1.77 = 6.05).
Because of the tank shape the following table should be more accurate at the lower portion of the tank.
IN. GALLONS
1 = 1.77
2 = 3.54
3 = 5.31
4 = 7.08
5 = 8.85
6 = 10.62
7 = 12.39
8 = 14.16
9 = 15.93
10 = 17.7
The gas level started at 2" and was 3" after adding two gallons.
The tank was almost empty, which may account for the error due to the curved shape at the bottom edges of the tank.
