Stretch, I have a 61 Cub with an IH carb, the top was warped very badly. I could'nt lay it flat because of a few obstructions. What I did was take the lock washers off of the screws that fasten the top to the float bowl and sandwich them between the top and the bowl. Then I installed the screws and tightened them, leaving a gap between the top and the bowl, the gap being wider between the screws because of the warpage. Then I took a hammer and a block of wood and tapped the warped areas down till the gap was what looked to be even all the way around, I assembled it using two gaskets and it ran perfectly. I guess there's a chance of breakage, so go slow if you try this. Good Luck Don W.
