There usually is a tube that the bearing rides on. That takes up the space between the bearing ID and the shaft. I am not a big fan of graphite throw out bearings. They tend to break if mis-adjusted. If it were my tractor I would definitely replace it. Especially since you are already where you are. We just replaced one in a 'C' we have. Kind of pricey. It cost a little over $100.00 from Case/IH. A new carrier was needed for ours. I suspect you will also need to replace the carrier. JMHO
