It's been almost 25 years since I did the same thing to my 1949 H ser. #301962. This was neccesary after the pump began leaking through the bolt holes that I (as a seventeen year old mechanic) had egg-shaped and reamed out enough to bolt onto the original front cover. (it worked for 3 years before I needed to learn the right way) I had no trouble finding the correct front cover but The big problem was finding the intermediate plate that goes between the block and the front cover. I don't know if you will need to change that on a 1950 H but I just wanted to mention that it has a nut welded to the plate. That was the one that was so far out of alignment on mine that caused all of the trouble. You are probably already aware of this, but I just thought I would mention it. Goodluck
