I bought mine brand new from overstock.com for about 1/2 price as I recall in 2004. It's a great book and the decal placement is just one small portion of the book as most is about development and changes to the various 1939-1954 Farmall models of IHC's glory days. It is a great reading and informative book that every Farmall enthusist would want and read, Hal.
Yes it is a great book and I refer to mine regularly to double check stuff on mine and friends tractors. I also recommend getting
"Farmall Model H - Photo Archive" edited by P.A. Letourneau. It is a collection of original factory photos showing different year models and is very helpful in determining decal placement changes over the years, and even decal oddities like I found out that on my 1940 H, even without a PTO installed, the tractor still got the PTO warning decal. It has 130 or so photos and factory cut-away drawings, each one takes up an entire page so you don't have to squint and the only error in the whole book I found was on page 45, it shows a model B instead of an H, cultivating Marigolds! You can also look all the photos up in the IHC archives online if you want to take the time.

In my younger days, mom, dad and my brother made frequent visits to dad's youngest brother Pete, who took over the home farm from grandpa MIke. It was the typical set-up, milk cows, pigs & chickens.
