Hi , I just read a message thread where Bob "the tractor guru" stated 'that he had a "SAE PTO adapter" around here somewhere'. Is it warm enough to go outside and look for it now??
So Bob, if you're reading this, 'This ones for you'!
Well here's the skinny: We took a C123 power unit off a McCormick 56-M baler and are converting it to run LP to drive an irrigation pump. We were going to cobble up a slip belt "clutch" of some sort, but we found an old Le'Roi 4 cyl that has a Twindisc clutch mounted to it (in**really** good shape- the Le'Roi is toast) with the same size bell housing and bolt pattern as the 123. The 123 flywheel had a spline adapter drive plate that we would like to change to a "SAE PTO adapter" that you (Bob) have laying around there. According to Mill Log products in Coburg Or. such adapter plates were made, they just didn't have any and didn't know where to find them.
With price of fuel price predicted to go up 40% or more, driving the pump with the old 65 Multipower Massey Fergusons' PTO 24hr/day is **really** not doable. I'm not sure if posting your Ph # is Kosher or not, I didn't fully read the agreement (who does?) I assumed that anyone who participates in type of forum has their head screwed on right and still has a decent value/ethical system so as not to abuse this type of personal info.
Please contact me directly via E-mail or at 541-475-6470 (Madras, Or) if you (or anyone reading this post) are able to help.
Thanks,
Jim Lash @ Peter's Gumwood ranch :D
