Hi David: That's a valid question. We have a lot of Yonni Mennonites and Amish in this area (Northern DE and Southeast PA) Some farm with horses only, some are allowed to use tractors, but only as stationary power units, and some use tractors for field work. According to their religious rules and beliefs some can only use tractors on steel wheels, I don't really know why, but in SE PA you will see tons of tractors on what we call Amish Steel. That's when they take the tires off and weld angle iron cleats on the rim. Not just old stuff either. Two years ago I saw a JD 2640 on steel chopping silage, and businesses in the area often have forklifts with steel wheels. Sorry so long winded, but some of it is hard to explain Karl. BTW, I have seen 806 IHs and 930 Cases on steel also.
