Are you sure it is a ten speed and not a 9 speed which is somewhat common on the H and M models. Do you have an photos you can post on this forum of the visible components? The Heisler 9 speed has the entry location for the shifter mechanism on the left (clutch side) with a shifter linkage lever mounted on the transmission cover in the forward left hand corner. 5th gear is a direct drive off of the engine through the transmission input shaft I believe. You should be able to tell if 5th has an increased speed when the transmission if engaged in high range just by driving it but I doubt it does as it would be a first in the 10 years I've been on this forum but anything is possible I guess, Hal.
