This is me using 750 cfm at 125 psi. I have been doing this for 30 years. The full circumference of that tank takes less than 45 minutes (about 1050 sq ft). The sand I use costs $.01 per pound in bulk loads and I have used it on all kinds of equipment. Baking soda is slightly more effective than sponge blasting. I don't recommend anyone pay the premium price for poor performance. Baking soda was discovered as a blasting media by the contractor who last cleaned the Statue of Liberty in the '80s. They were looking for a special surface treatment to enhance the patina of the weathered copper. It won't remove rust or heavy machinery enamal. It will take the paint of a Coke can and leave a shiny aluminum finish. It has been used on factory automotive finsihes but is very slow and expensive.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
