When the clutch is disengaged moving the TA lever will have no affect on the TA. The TA is hydraulically controlled and when the clutch is disengaged the TA dump vale is pulled out, dumping all pressure to both TA clutch packs. Shifting the TA under this circumstance only determines which clutch pack will be pressurized when the clutch pedal is released.
