I understand your points; but I'm not getting that voltage.
The battery is less than 6 months old and was temporarily taken from a well-running tractor. It charges fine with a regular battery charger.
I expected the battery to be somewhat drained after two starts and the trip - but had more volts than when I started. So, it was getting juice - maybe just enough of a trickle to do the job.
