Thanks red. How did you know that that would be the problem? I went out to look for the plate you talked about but I couldn't find one. Apparently the last owner took it off for some reason. I grabed the shaft and then I knew that that was the problem. I could wiggle it and make the same noise I was hearing before. When I went to take it off I found someone's idea of a quick fix. Instead of the proper bolt of pin holding the shaft on each end someone use two pieces of wire. When I had the shaft off I started her up and the noise was gone. Thank you thank you thank you! Now to fix it. What is the right way to hold the shaft in place. Is there just two bolts in the rings or some kind of pin? Thanks again. aaron
