the question is is the 240 a good tractor, is it easy to find used parts, the reason i am using a cletras trac is it is easy to find parts.
If I'm not mistaken, the Farmall 240 is more rare than the International 240U... something like 3500 to 10,000. Some of the parts are common between them, and some are common with the 230 and probably as far back as the Super C, but the farther back you go, the less they are the same.
The basic tractor should be pretty good, but is outdated by the time they were introduced in '58. Main complaints I have are no live pto when most tractors had it by then, and only a 4 speed tranny. My 240U 3 point does not respond well, but that may just be my tractor.
