Supposedly they have no idea of the serial numbers of any of the demo tractors. Look how many white demos there are...
IIRC the steering column on a gold demo was black(?) where the others must normally be red??? Something like that. That is then a tip off to start looking in hidden places for gold paint. I guess when the dealers repainted them red they would usually leave the steering column the demo color rather than the normal color. That is what some gold demo guy told me at Baraboo or Madison RPRU (I don't really remember where I was, but I know it was a show up that way) Obviously when the dealer did the repaint there were some hidden areas that have gold paint rather than red on them. ie behind panels, in cracks, behind big parts, etc
