Not being familiar with most individual models of tractors, I don't know where a pressure test port might be, but it most likely has one. Find that and install a guage, probably one capable of 3000psi will do. Again, not sure what a 300 system pressure might be, but I'd check that agaist the specs... someone here no doubt knows what that is, but being a gear pump from that era (1950s), probably no more than 2500psi. Run your cylinder to the end of the stroke (dead-head it) and read the pressure. If it's noticably higher than the spec, that could be the problem. That's about the only way you can tell anything... put a guage on it.
