Forgot to mention casting codes. Look over the major castings of the tractor, engine block, transmission case, axle housings, etc. for raised numbers and letters that look like this: *10*24*L* where the * represents screw heads. These are the casting codes. Most of them on the A will be on the same side as the seat. The engine code will be just below the mag/distributor. The transmission code will be on the side of the case, just in front of the shift lever. There should be one on the long axle housing as well. The letter stands for the year and the numbers are the month and day the part was cast. You can get close to the manufacture date with these as well. The years start with 1931 at A and go through T being 1950. U and W were used in 1951 (V was skipped) and X, Y and Z represent '52, '53 and '54 respectively. Then they started over at A in '55. Phil
