Without going throught he parts books and looking up the numbers, I think what K-Mo said is right. If there weren't 3 different tanks, there were at least 3 different sets of mounting brackets.
I think the tank had to be changed (something similar to what gene said) when the Super C with the taller radiator came out. They may have used that tank on the later SUper A with different brackets.
