Differing belt manufacturers, even of the same belt, have differing part numbering systems, if the manufactuer is the same on both belts, use a measuring device at the parts store to measure the length of the old belt, & ask for a replacement, unfortunately, that's about the best way to get the proper length belt.
The old "piece of string" method to get a proper belt length will at least get you in the ball park, but you may need to return it for one 1/2 to 3/4 longer or shorter depending on you application, and amount of available adjustment.
The most accurate way to determine proper belt length is to use a piece of nylon rope or cord the same diameter as the belt is wide, that should give you the correct length in inches when wrapped around both pulleys, pulled taught, and cut to where both ends meet.
