Hi Pete23, I wanted to let you know what happened. As I mentioned earlier, I removed and inspected the pressure relief safety valve and also the check valve today and when I first started up, it seemed to make the same surge noises, but after running the lift up and down several times it seems to have straightened out. I will let you know more about that after I run it for a while. I DO HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION for you or anyone who may have done this. I'm having problems with my power steering(PS) and need to do some testing. I've been told to put a shut off valve in the pressure line and I see no way to do this without cutting the steel line. My question is, after I cut this steel line will a normal compression fitting hold the pressure that the PS pump puts out? If not, what else can I do to install the test valve so I can test the pump?
