During startup of the rebuilt cub, the 6 volt system seemed too sluggish, so I ran the ignition at 6 volts, the starter at 12. Spun fast, got oil pressure, ran for a while, but stalled and now it floods. I posted an earlier thread on the carb, rebuilt it, and now it does not leak gas, but the plugs still get wet before it runs.
So, does spinning the engine on 12 volts cause such a strong draw that it floods the engine?
I'm buying a new 6 volt and that will put me back to spec. Process of elimination. What else am I missing? Some of us diesel mechanics are helpless when it comes to carbs and spark plugs.
