I know most As had their engine"s max speed set at 1540 RPM no load, 1400 under load. I just read that early Super As that still used 113 CID had max under load speeds set at 1650 RPM to improve power a little. Which I guess would mean no load max speed for them would be 1790 RPM (140 RPM difference). Would it be safe to bump up a non Super A to that speed without any major adverse effects? Also would it be worth doing for the little power gain? thanks.
