I did that to my Super A because I use it to finish mow my lawn and when I would shut it of I could hear it boiling. Also when I would keep the water level at it's proper mark water would come out of the over flow tube when I would go down the banks on my lawn. When I installed the water pump all my problems were solved. I did NOT change the head gasket or install a thermostat or convert to a pressure radiator. All you are doing is circulating the water faster and removing heat more efficiently. I have no problems with it leaking water out any more. I don't have to refill the radiator before starting to mow anymore. You do have to remove the front bolster and axle assembly to install the water pump. It fits right in. You have to make sure that you get a water pump with the rear plate on it though. Some were sold as rebuilt replacements without the rear plate so you would use your old one. I feel the effort involved installing the pump was worth it. Good Luck. Ed.
