We have A SMD, SMTA(D) and a 450D They all operate about the same. They start on gas then in a minute or so you switch over to diesel. They are harder to work on and more expensive than gas models. If everything is adjusted right they start and switch over to diesel fairly easy. There are several linkages that have to be right. I would buy them at that price. If one has a good head they bring 400-450 alone
