I guess I don't have any personal experience with a 615, but I cut my teeth on IH combines with its predecessor, the 101(which was replaced by the 303 which, in turn, was replaced by the 615). Dad farmed 5 quarters(800 acres) with a 101 for 20 years before we retired the old girl. Granted, we did have a corn picker for the corn, but we still had 2-3 quarters of small grain every year that the 101 had to deal with. It always seemed slow going, but the 101 always got its job done. Your 615 has a bigger grain tank & more HP than the 101, so you should have plenty of combine for your operation. The only problem might be parts availabilty, Case pretty much wants to make combines older than the Axial-Flows obsolete & one way is to make parts scarce for the older machines. One good thing is that a lot of parts interchange with the 715, which IH sold a lot of, so that might help with the parts situation. Good luck!
