Hello, Stevie, still planning on e-mailing you back. Studs are used on McCormick- Deering tractors of that vintage as the holes go into the water jackets. Bolts threaded in are tougher to seal off, but it can be done with thread tape. I try to use studs. I can measure a manifold and tell you how long they need be, may be able to have a local machinist make you some.
