Its your tractor so its your call. With that said I believe you selected these guys based on work of theirs that you have seen? You made the decision to go with them because that is the quality of job you wanted for your tractor. Since you hired them to do the job take their advice and use something other then the 2150. The 2150 is okay paint and can be laid on to give a nice shine. I would be okay with maybe using it on a working tractor or a tractor I was planning to sell. If I remember correctly this tractor is kind of being restored in memory of your father and will be more or less a show and parade tractor? If that is the case let these guys paint it with what they want. Just make sure they get a really good match on color. Most true body and fender guys don't like to use straight enamel because it is harder to work with and can give you fits. I was a believer in regular old 2150 until I did a job with an acrylic enamel and I've never looked back. Acrylic is only a notch or two above regular enamel. Your guys are probably using something much better. I'll probably get flamed for this but 2150 is not as good of paint as some of the more expensive ones. It has it's place but I don't believe it is on your tractor. JMHO.
