The new logo could have been put on gauges any time after the logo came out in '44/'45. However, it appears that changing the gauge faces must have been pretty low priority. I have a '47 B with the IHC logo on the ammeter. I don't know for a fact it is the original but I know it hasn't been changed since 1957.
I've seen quite a few IHC logoed gauges on early Cubs (at least '47). Here is the only picture I've got handy of an IHC style gauge. It is reported to be an original from a very early Cub that has been carefully cleaned up. Unfortunately, it is an ammeter so the needle is in front of the logo. But look closely and you can see the serifs on the I and H, doesn't look at all like the man on the tractor.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
